WoW as a social enviroment

Playing this game daily makes Me wonder, why do people play it and yet act like its another internet-based communication channel, that provides anonymity and chance to insult others. Place where you see this kind of behaviour is usually LFG system and battlegrounds. In LFG, you get random people in your group and after reaching certain level of gear, it doesnt really matter what kind of gear dps wear cause You alone provide enough damage to kill all bosses. That bring up a debate. Being badly geared is not an excuse for doing bad dps, like Gevlon proved with his project, where his guild Undergeared cleared Naxx in blues. When I get some low geared person in herocis now, who do 900 dps and clame that they dont have enough gear, then its obvious, that they dont know there class very well. I have had varoius experince in heroics and oddly enough, there are people who admit they play badly.

Two examples: went into heroic Pit of Saron, has a very nice paladin tank and seemingly very nice group. We cleared trash and reached first boss. Then tank made remark that dps not attack mobs before he gets aggro cause gtetting aggro back means lot more work and danger of healer getting killed due the healing aggro. Reasonable request and then came response, I didnt expect. Dps Death Knight typed with Bold letters in Party chat: STFU and tank! Silence fell for a second. Tank left without saying another word and I quickly followed, cause one thing I cant stand is rudeness. After leaving group, I checked Recount and what did I see - Death Knight with bad mouth had done 872 dps on trash. So a person is crap with manners, doesnt do what is needed in order to complete dungeon fast and clean, and top of all, thinks that other people need to do all the work for him. Unfortunetly, I dont remember the name of that Death Knight, but I really hope he learned something from this.

Second example takes us into heroic Violet Hold, which is insainly easy, with gear levels now. Clearing trash, I see that warlock in our group, is doing somewhere around 1100 dps, I inspect him and he's wearing mostly blues and even some greens. So I whisper him: "Are you slacking or are you just not experienced in your class?" This kind of question usually bring out an answer: My gear is crap. This time however, after a 20 seconds of silence, came an answer - I'm inexperinced, followed by question, Do you have some suggestions for me to improve? A person who wants to improve and is ready to learn, is in my mind worth helping through an instance, cause they dont slack they are polite and most importantly, they are ready to improve not just by gear, but through experince and advice.

Battlegrounds however are totally different game, and its there it seems that most people dont understand that 90% of this game is based on communicating and teamwork. Its impossible to achieve victory in battlegrounds when every player is pushing his/her individual goals and almost all the time the benefist are smaller that working as a group. Many times people have claimed that they are farming honor by just killing other factionmembers. Truth is that when completing battleground targets you get far more honor than solo-killing.

This has been kind of long post, but main reason why I brought this up is to get one thing straight. This game is ment for teamwork and communicating, individualism brings you only so far.
